Board Meeting Minutes
Date: January 19, 2025
Board Members: Steve Beckman (Secretary), Nella Davis-Ray (Communications), John Hays, Elizabeth Hoffman, Matthew Kazmierski (President), Denise Moore, Pat Poli (Communications), Alice Schehr (Treasurer), Mark Warner (Vice President)
Call to order: Matt Kazmierski called to order this meeting of the Brookfield Heritage Neighborhood Association Executive Committee at 4:09 pm ET on January 19th, 2025 in a meeting at 252 Oakland.
Roll Call:

- Absent: Nella Davis-Ray
- Others in attendance: None
- Quorum present: Yes
Approval of Past Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the Board meeting held on October 27 th, 2024 as presented. The motion carried without objection.
Treasurer Updates:
1. Alice provided a report that stated the association’s current account balance is $2369.26
Old Business:
1. 2025 Luminaries
a. Total cost for luminaries in 2024 was $326. The 2025 cost is estimated at $149 due to the reusing of materials from 2024.
2. BHNA website
a. Matt is still looking into a way to have emails automatically sent to people on the neighborhood distribution list when new posts are published
3. Environment Committee updates
a. Five properties have requested trees for empty spots: 204 and 253 Oakland and 204, 228, and 282 Maplewood
i. Four seven-foot Green Vase Zelkovas in 15 gallon pots have been ordered for 204 and 253 Oakland and 204 and 228 Maplewood from Van Attas for $229 each with expected delivery in April. Will hire a local service to help plant them for an estimated $100 each.
ii. Van Attas is looking to order a Fruitless Sweetgum tree for 282 Maplewood, also for $229
iii. Submit the “Street Tree Planting Request Application” or “Street Tree Application & Permit” forms in January
4. Social Committee updates
a. Garden Walk
b. Euchre Club/Tournament
5. Neighborhood documents
a. Matt has the historical neighborhood information boards that were on display during the annual meeting
6. BHNA Directory
a. Mark and Eli will help Nella make updates to the directory based on recent changes to the owners of some properties
